In 2007, Fortress Investment Group had its initial public offering (IPO). By 2009, Fortress Investment Group had sold 8% of it shares to the public for an astronomical $600,000,000. The same year, Wes became Co-chairman of the Board of Directors at Fortress Investment Group. When the subprime mortgage crisis hit later that year, Wes kept the company out of the red by offering subprime lending. Fortress Investment Group now has offices all around the globe. Wes Edens holds 63,300,000 shares of stock in his company.
In January of 2017, Fortress Investment Group and Wes Edens turned its sights toward the ever-popular world of online video games. They created the FlyQuest professional eSports team.
