The Wessex Institute of Technology is located in a forest in the United Kingdom. The Wessex Institute is research and educational facility who’s overall mission is to advance the world of science by fostering communication between academics, researchers, and industry professionals. The institute was founded by Professor Carlos Brebbia in 1986 and it focuses on three areas; research, conferences, and publishing.
The research performed at the institute is done in partnership with several universities around Europe. The research is presented at conferences that The Wessex Institute holds several times a year. The conference proceedings, as well as other edited works, are then published by WIT Press, the publishing wing of the institute.The Wessex Institute also hosts an annual event where the Prigogine Medal is awarded to the top researcher of the year. Additionally, they award the George Green Medal which is given out in a partnership with the University of Mississippi.
